The German tuner AC Schnitzer, specialized in the development tuning packages for BMW, has developed a newone, this time for the new BMW X5. The package, called Falcon, includes a wide bodykit and an upgraded 3.0 diesel engine that develops 310hp (228kW), 24 hp - more than the production version - which produces 286hp (210 kW).

Nissan has unveiled today first details of its all-electric and hybrid electric prototype vehicles, both powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries. Under the NISSAN GT 2012 business plan, the company has committed to zero-emission vehicle leadership, and has announced plans to introduce an all-electric vehicle in 2010 and mass market globally in 2012.

You might remember watching a Heffner-powered twin-turbo Ford GT that could hit 222 mph in the standing mile or Heffner Performance’s standard twin-turbo package for the 5.0L high-rev V10 engine of the Lamborghini Gallardo that was already one of the most extreme tuning packages for any car but the Florida tuner has lifted performance yet again.

Ford Germany announced that LPG and CNG-performance cars has been improved.
According to the press release, gas-powered Ford have increased their consumption up to 1 liter/100 km, which allows the car 50 kilometers (30 miles) greater range, roughly 450 km on the gas and an additional 750 km unleaded.

The Maxima belongs to a threatened species, the front-drive sporting sedan.
No one is talking extinction here, but rear drive allows a balance of handling and a purity of steering that’s just not possible in a front-driver with upwards of 270 horsepower.

Lotus has confirmed that it is planning a convertible version for the new Evora after a a few from the official debut at the London Motor Show. A convertible version will be launched at the end of 2011 to strengthen Evora's position after three years on the market, and the company hopes to that the open-top version will help maintain the target sales of 2000 cars/year.
